A stunning, sumptuous, enormous state of the art suite. Easy to lose each other! Excellent design, fittings, linens & facilities. It was amazing. Felt like we had won the lottery! A huuuuge bed, dressing room & bathroom. Views were stunning & sunrise was captivating. Very well equipped. Good air-conditioning. Windows floor to ceiling. Wonderful balcony & outdoor braai & sink. You have to see it to believe it.

    The clean well maintained unit was Great.

    The clean well maintained unit was Great. The reception staff ,security and restaurant staff were all very friendly. Recommendations The reception staff can maybe promote the restaurant/ dining area we had to ask if it is open and available for dinner. The lights at the reception entrance inside the outside of restaurant and restaurant foyer are extremely dull. I recommend some nice bright lighting will definitely add to the ambiance. The food was good value for money. Stay was Great!

    Gariep is really conveniently situated for an over night...

    Gariep is really conveniently situated for an over night stop to and from Cape Town, You can self cater and really enjoy the view, relax and have a really comfortable nights rest. You can also go to the restaurant if you prefer. We have been coming for many years really look forward to our stay each time.

    The pizza place is just simply the BEST!

    The pizza place is just simply the BEST! easy to get views of the dam and the little town has very comfortable, reasonably priced places to stay. the ideal stop over between Gauteng/KZN and the Cape!

    Gariep Dam is beautiful but you need to plan ahead and...

    Gariep Dam is beautiful but you need to plan ahead and unless you are staying in the resort do not appear to have access to the water. People were less than helpful, in terms of the only boat cruise company available, and we found it frustrating not being near the water; so were unable to participate in an water activities. The 4x4 tractor rides, as advertised are no longer running! If I stayed again would have no choice but to use the resort to get maximum benefit of the dam.

    This area is beautiful, with magnificent views of the Gariep...

    This area is beautiful, with magnificent views of the Gariep dam. The local community is working hard to make the town a welcome place for visitors. The town was clean (no rubbish littering the streets), staff at store and service station very friendly. Would definitely recommend a stay over in this beautiful part of South Africa

    We booked the Studio apartment.

    We booked the Studio apartment. The room was spacious and the kitchenette was a bonus but the 1 window didn't have a curtain and a light shone in all night and the generator for loadshedding was a bit noisy
