Stayed in the Cabin for a week and it was everything I could have wanted. Cozy fireplace in the lounge for the evenings, a bar outside for morning coffee while watching the monkeys, good quality bedding on a King sized bed, a well equipped kitchen. Communication is excellent, and Lyndsay even forwarded relevant events/deals as they came up. If I had the time I would have stayed longer, 10/10 recommend.

Everything was perfect. The best location. The house was very well equipped with every possible thing we needed. The rooms were spacious. The bathrooms were amazing. The views were exceptional. The gardens were so well kept. I wish we could have spent more time there. Definitely will be visiting again. Annarie was an amazing host.

Arriving at Misty Oaks we were welcomed by sheep, horses, oak trees and a warm welcoming cottage. Two fireplaces keep you warm, days are filled with fishing, walking, relaxing on the sunny stoep.     Although raining most of the time and muddy we were able to visit the aboretum when the skies cleared for about an hour. An amazing collection of old trees and a little birding was done. The road from the north is in a bad state and would advise the long route from the south to approach the town. Will visit in better weather conditions next time we hope. The main road in town also needs grading .

    Loved the magical environment. Quaint shops.

    Loved the magical environment. Quaint shops. People friendly. Good walks. Enjoyed the Parkrun - highly recommended. Enjoyed the walk around the Arboretum and walk to 39 Steps waterfall and Kettlespout waterfall. Many more walks we could have done. Enjoyed the labyrinth and Viewpoint from The Edge Mountain Retreat. Enjoyed chocolate and coffee tasting.

    Hogsback is a little magic gem that needs to be discovered.

    Hogsback is a little magic gem that needs to be discovered. I expected a typical little town, but discovered that the next street is about a kilometer further. Unbelievable beautiful nature and rich abundance of big old trees. Dinner at The Edge and a stroll in The Arboretum with its waterfall were highlights, but I will be back for at least a week to experience more of the magic. The info office is nice, but lacks enthusiasm and does not sell all the wonderful opportunities that the village has.

    We had a great time in Hogsback.

    We had a great time in Hogsback. One of the highlights being the Parkrun on Saturday. Enjoyed the scenery and nature. Hogsback is basically dirt roads only, so keep that in mind when selecting what vehicle you use, but cars can get around.

    I must say, it was nothing short of breathtaking.

    I must say, it was nothing short of breathtaking. The hidden gem is a nature lover's paradise, and i was thoroughly captivated by its serene beauty. I was struck by the vibrant flowers that to bloom everywhere, Garden of love is always my favorite place, waterfalls always steal my heart. Hogsback always leaves an indelible mark on my heart. Your beauty, your tranquility, and your magic will stay with me forever. I will be back soon, eager to drink in more of your splendor.

    Nature untouched. Good walking distance to waterfalls. Well maintained nature park. The right getaway for relaxing in beautiful garden surroundings. Restaurants with great food. Supermarket with all basic necessities. Buy a handcrafted walking stick and have your name or custom inscription.

    The location and the Hogsback area was amazing. The hotel is centrally situated and easily accessible. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful and went out of their way to demonstrate care and meeting our needs. The food at the restaurant for lunch and dinner was excellently prepared and served and was truly value for money. The grounds and gardens etc. make for the perfect mountain retreat and breakaway. The cottages were serviced daily and everything was clean.

    The Hogsback is one of the most beautiful places in South Africa. The indigenous forests, waterfalls, mist and fresh air are wonderful. The dinner we were served was 4 courses and all were delicious with extremely generous portions. Breakfast was excellent too - I especially enjoyed the fresh crumpets. This is a great place to visit and enjoy old fashioned hospitality!

    Hogsback Is a very beautiful place. The Cabins are nice little mountain cottages. Everything has worked well. The cottages are quite well equipped and nicely decorated. Our stay has been perfect. We could also use the fireplace on the coldest evening as the owners had left some wood for the purpose.
