A very cute area, beautifully located, with a great beach and coastal walk. The town might get very crowded during peak season, although that wasn't the case when I was there. Jongensfontein is a safe location for a great seaside holiday. Its mainly a residential area with low traffic volumes. Jongensfontein is a very laid back town that's great for avid fishermen. The beaches aren't great for swimming because of the rip currents, but there are plenty of spots to dip your feet in and there are an abundance of rockpools. There's a lovely hike (Noordkapper Trail) that runs between Jongensfontein and Stilbaai which is 11kms long and flat so it's not strenuous. Just watch out for snakes. The area is family friendly and you'll find people going for jogs and bike rides in the morning. The people in the area are friendly too with the language spoken being predominantly Afrikaans. Our favourite find in terms of cafe's was Allegaartjie Cafe in Stilbaai. Everything they make is delicious.
