From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed into a space that radiates comfort, style, and warmth. The accommodation is simple but more than adequate for self-catering although the one dinner & breakfast we had were excellent. The farm is quite remote and very peaceful situated near the Matzikamma Mountains the view of which is spectacular in the light of the setting sun. The nearby brilliant Gifberg pass leaves the flowerlands of Namaqualand (well worth a visit in flower time) to reveal a remarkable fynbos area where there is a lot of rooibos tea growing. Our hostess, Ancarene, could not have been better.

Mountain View Guesthouse might be the best guesthouse I’ve stayed in. It’s located very close to the N7, petrol stations, supermarket, restaurants, and Costa coffee shop. A lovely warm welcome from Roché. He has thought of everything. A beautiful, immaculately clean room, full kitchen facilities with comprehensive dishes and utensils, fridge, microwave, air fryer, coffee pod machine, 2 x multi-head phone chargers. Also a working TV (doesn't always happen in my experience), and secure parking. No breakfast provided but that was expected, and it’s fine for me as I had my own food. And places to eat close by.
