A quaint and quirky little town in the Karoo, famed for its terrible flash flood in 1981, which killed 104 residents, and all but wiped out the town. We tried to visit the Flood Museum but it turned out to be closed on Friday afternoons, which was exactly when we went to visit it. The Grand Hotel was wonderful! We had the best pizzas ever there on Friday evening (pizza night!) and it was such a friendly place. We were in Laingsburg for the Laingsburg Karoo Maratohn, a delightful low key running event thought the truly spectacular stunningly beautuful scenery of the Karoo. We loved it!

The flood museum is a must as this gives you an insight how people came together under the most difficult circumstances.
As we only stayed overnight we had a quick lunch at a coffee shop next to the museum.
We found the town to be very clean and neat - head up to all for this.
