Our time at Madikwe Safari Lodge was magical, I cannot put in to words how special this holiday was for us. The property was stunning, rooms were beautiful, staff so attentive and friendly and our guide Mike on our game drives was SUPERB! Also, the food is fantastic!! So many options for breakfast, lunch and dinner it was hard to choose each time! We would not hesitate to return to Madikwe Safari Lodge!

Starting with Tammy at reservations to Bill and Amy and their whole team There is nothing not to like about Motswiri, the food the staff, great coffee. The Last Word Madikwe was simply fantastic, impeccable, far beyond our expectations. The room was wonderful, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. A highlight of our stay was the care and attention of the staff, which made our stay unforgettable. All the staff members are very attentive and pleasant. Damien was our ranger and went above and beyond to ensure that we had the complete experience and saw the big 5 and more. Every day, they left sweets, poems, and other treats in our room. The hotel is fantastic. There are only 5 rooms, which makes the experience very exclusive and unique. Because it's so exclusive, we ended up interacting directly with the other guests, making the atmosphere lighter and more enjoyable and allowing us to make new friends. A unique feature of the Last Word Madikwe is the Hide, which allows you to see animals drinking water in the river literally 1 meter away. It was incredible. One night, we saw a herd of buffalo drinking water while enjoying a glass of wine and the starry sky! The safari was amazing! They divide the guests into two cars, so it's super comfortable! We loved the surprise breakfast in the middle of the savannah! What an incredible experience! We will definitely come back and recommend it to all our friends! Thank you very much, Last Word Madikwe! We already miss it!

From the moment we arrived, we were very well looked after by Clarinda and the rest of the team. Our lodge was marvellous in every way – an outside rock shower, a huge indoor bath. A beautiful canopied bed to keep the mossies out and a large, very private decking area where we could watch the animals passing by on their way to the watering hole. Housekeeping was just perfect. We never saw them but everything was done for us including putting hot water bottles in our bed for the chilly nights. The food was first class too. The chef obviously takes great pride in the presentation. It was beautiful. The lodge watering hole was just fabulous. One lunchtime, there were 16 elephants drinking from it along with some tiny ones. It was mesmerising and from the viewing tunnel you can get so close to them. Martin our ranger was an absolute star. He went above and beyond to show us the wildlife in the park and we will always be grateful to him for giving us such a magical time. He has encyclopaedic knowledge of everything and his love for the animals shines through. Our twice daily game drives were fantastic. Martin strove to locate different animals each day, using his well-equipped Land Cruiser to reach even the furthest corners of the reserve. His tracking skills were uncanny. One day he followed the tracks of a pack of wild dogs before finally finding them taking a break under a shady bush well away from any recognised path. Stopping for morning coffee and afternoon sundowners in remote areas was always a delight and offered a chance to stretch legs and chat to the other holiday makers. We were so lucky to have Martin and so is Tuningi. We will remember it always.

Madikwe Hills is set on a hill in the malaria-free Madikwe Game Reserve, home to the Big Five game and to the rare Wild Dog. The camp features a wellness spa, library and a curio shop.

What a place! I could honestly go on forever about how amazing Madikwe Hills Private Game Lodge is! We were return travelers and had another truly incredible stay. From stunningly beautiful rooms, wonderful and very friendly staff, absolutely amazing wildlife and delicious food- nothing is short of perfect. We just wish we stayed longer! We will definitely be back!

We loved everything about our stay at Rhulani. The staff were incredible and took such wonderful care of us. We've never felt more special in our whole lives. The experience is truly amazing.
