Wonderful location. Great views of the mountains. Wild animals roaming at the lodge. Nothing like waking up with wildebeest and impala on the lawn, or coffee with a view of giraffe walking past. Even lucky enough to see two lions pass during dinner one evening. Excellent game drives, very friendly staff. Breakfast in the bush one morning.

Wow was an expressive super beautifully furnished apartment. _ There is everything you want from coffee to tea to shower gel shampoo and water. The bed is very comfortable and the bathroom invites you to stay. A very nice accommodation I would recommend to anyone to book it. The host was very attentive, helpful and friendly.

Our previous visit was too short and we promised ourselves to come back again. Our stay this time was just as wonderful. Somkhanda is such a beautiful and unique game reserve and compared to many other lodges and private game reserves it is still good value. If you don't expect unnecessary luxury (our opinion) then you will love it here. We highly recommend taking the game drive whether you have a 4x4 or not as our guide Riaan is so knowledgeable and you will get to see a lot more of this gem of a game reserve. The staff are also so friendly and helpful and if you are not self catering there is a little restaurant offering a limited but tasty selection of dishes. We hope to be back again.
