Our stay was absolutely incredible – hospitality on a whole different level (if we could give 11/10, we would!). The entire team went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, and every single person we met was exceptionally kind and genuine. The food was delicious, and every meal felt like a treat. Everything was perfect!! Probably the best hotel experience we ever had! Perfect welcoming, extremely friendly staff (without being too much), beautiful outside areas with amazing atmosphere created with oil lamps and candles, great experience on the fire pit over a drink and a great chat upon arrival from game drive, spotless pool area. Loved the “mi casa, tu casa” concept where we could help ourselves to the open bar. The sleeping room was beautiful and spotless clean. The food was amazing and the chefs really friendly, the high teas phenomenal…… we could go on and on and on about Tambuti. Go do yourselves a favour a book this lodge!

We had the executive suite and it was super luxurious and comfortable. Eddie took us out on great drives and organized a walking safari for us. Couldn’t have had a better time. Just make sure you know that the nearest shop is 40min away.

    Pilansberg is a 3 hour from Johannesburg.

    Pilansberg is a 3 hour from Johannesburg. It is easily accessible however the roads to the Pilansberg are not in great shape. It would be best to take a shuttle than to drive yourself. The park is fantastic with all the animals. We saw many lion, a leopard, many elephants, many rhino and lots more. I highly recommend.

    Pilansberg Game reserve is falling apart, literally.

    Pilansberg Game reserve is falling apart, literally. This will be our last trip and we have been going for 15+jears. The road to the reserve is horrific but worse is the roads in the reserve itself. The "tarred" sections or what's left of it is one pothole after another, not pleasant to drive at all, even at the 40km speed limit in the reserve. Hides are becoming dangerous, falling apart and the toilet facilities at these hides are TERRIBLE! It is sad to see the facilities in the reserve keep declining.

    Pilanesberg has never let us down.

    Pilanesberg has never let us down. Even in heavy rain there is always something if you look hard enough and seeing the park in all weathers and different seasons, with the mountains, green spaces, trees, and dams is such a treat. Love every visit! Fish Eagle lookout is spectacular and the salt lick by the visitor centre usually brings in some animals and/or birds toward the start and end of the day - plus the coffee is good.

    The wildlife in the Pilanesberg is varied and every game drive we went on was well rewarded with good viewing on the plains. Black rhino reserve is quite different and probably better viewing in winter when less undergrowth.

    I was here six years ago. There are much less animals. Looks like they removed hundreds animals to private game drives. It is not Pilinesberg that I saw six years ago. If you don’t want to be upset, choose Kruger.

    The game drives with Ntate Thomas Manyama were thee absolute highlight of my stay. Ntate Thomas is so knowledgeable,hospitable and friendly. I learned so much about the Pilanesberg reserve, its history,the animals and just life. He is a national treasure.

    Everything was fantastic from the gamedrives to breakfast, lunch and dinners. The room was beatiful Poolarea really nice A very exotic feeling of the whole resort. Our gamedrive- Ranger Cliffort was totally fantastic and 100% devoted to his job and hobby. 11 out of 10 to him. We saw lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos,giraffes and much more... 4/5 of the Big Five. Not Buffalo I hope the management of the hotel takes good care of Ciffort as he is something extra

    Do not book with this host! The host is dishonest as the Hotel Timeshare had no record of our reservation. They just ghosted us and did not respond to any contact, whether through booking.com or via their mobile number provided . If you want to stay here, book directly with Legacy Hotels- Kwa Maritane. Amazing service received from them to assist with our scammed booking.

    Everything was absolutely stunning, truly one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. We loved the small size of the resort and incredible attention to detail, as well as the amazing customer service from every staff member. The guest rooms were beautifully designed and well equipped. The food was varied and delicious at every meal. The game drives were excellent.

    The best hotel I have ever stayed in. All the staff and guides were so lovely, the room was outstanding, very comfortable. The staff came each day to hear our hot tub up. Food was included and really good choice and very tasty. Game drives twice a day were incredible and such a great experience. I couldn’t recommend this lodge any higher!
