If the relaxed farm experience & countryside appeal to you it is worth making the little detour from Heidelberg to Slangrivier from there it is a few km to the Malgas ferry which is the only one in South Africa. Take your vehicle over the Breede river on the Ferry this is a cool experience . Next stop De Hoop Nature reserve to enjoy the unspoilt white beaches and dunes truly beautiful making your way to Cape Agulhas with it's rugged beauty.
