The rooms are spacious and well equipped. They have a great restaurant and a small heated outdoor pool. I've been here twice, hand down best hotel in the wide region.

This place is brand new and amazing. The hot tubs and sauna that overlook the glacier are definitely the highlight. If you get lucky (like me) you might even get to see the aurora while sipping an excellent cocktail in the hot tub. Other than that all the staff were very kind and professional. The hotel's restaurant is great and offers amazing food made with local ingredients. Also their signature cocktails were delicious.

Opened in June 2018, Hotel 1001 Nott offers modern accommodations 3.1 mi from Egilsstadir. The hotel features outdoor hot tubs overlooking Lake Lagarfljót. There is also an on-site bar. Very friendly staff, always available to help you. Great location with wonderful view of the lake and very spacious room with a modern and elegant style. In addition, superb breakfast and a restaurant with delicious food.

Fosshotel Mývatn is located next to Lake Mývatn, 4.2 mi to the Mývatn Nature Baths. The hotels provides free WiFi and free private parking. What a wonderful hotel. Everything was spotless and well designed. The view of Lake Mývatn was just awesome from the bar and the restaurant. Best location possible. Wish we could have stayed much longer. Will use this hotel again on my next visit. Food in the restaurant was very good both diner and breakfast. Bonus was seeing the northern lights dance above the lava fields surrounding the hotel.

Located in Iðunnarstaðir, 27 miles from Thingvellir National Park, Basalt Hotel provides accommodations with a restaurant, free private parking and a bar. Super nice surroundings. The staff were so friendly and recommended nice things to do for us. The rooms were clean and comfortable and we got nice bathrobes. Breakfast had eggs, bacon warm bread and all kinds of other things. Coffee was good. Over all we had a super good stay here ☺️
