Outstanding family run B&B that was charming, clean, and situated in the heart of the Appenzell region with access to unbelievable scenery and hiking. Wonderful hospitality from Abongile who provided all the local knowledge and recommendations. She went above and beyond to help us with a parking ticket as well. Amazing local organic breakfast was provided every morning, with the scrambled eggs in particular a highlight. WiFi was fast!

This Hotel City Weissenstein enjoys a peaceful location at the edge of the pedestrian zone of St. Gallen, close to the old town and the main railway station. Wi-Fi is available for free.

Let’s start from the day I booked and reached out to the receptionists, they have been more than helpful and super friendly (something you don’t get to experience very often in other hotels). On my day of arrival (I had a very late check-in), everything worked and was prepared for pick-up (key in key box with code). The room and the bathroom were bigger than expected. Very clean and comfortable bed. I had a room on the street side. It wasn’t too noise, but for a summer day I would recommend you to book a room on the other side. Breakfast was very delicious, a variety of everything (bread, jam, cheese, ham, cornflakes, oat-meal, Jogurt, fruits, fresh juice,…) and not to forget a fresh brewed coffee. Since I had to work on Monday, I was able to take my breakfast upstairs. I had the pleasure to meet the receptionists in-person, each of them have been kind, warm and friendly. Not to forget always a smile on their face. Overall it’s a great hotel with amazing service that you get for a decent price.

We arrived in St. Gallen by train from Zurich Airport, and the hotel was 2 mins across the road from the train station - easy walk and to pull luggage. We stayed 3 wonderful nights. The hotel was an easy 10 - 15mins walk from the old town. Beautiful city to visit with lots of beautiful architecture and surrounding alps that seemed just in our backyard. Loved the UNESCO Cathedral, the textile museum, loved the walk up the bell tower of St Lawrence Church with a fantastic view, loved the funicular ride and then walk up to the lake in the alps walking alongside the paddocks where the cows with their bells grazed. Very clean town - felt very safe. Used the free visitor tickets from the hotel to ride the train to see the countryside on our last afternoon. Very spacious, clean, comfortable rooms well-appointed with a view, welcoming and helpful staff, great atmosphere, lift to rooms, amazing breakfast (anything you could wish for) and the breakfast lady a treasure. The in-house sports bar has great food reasonably priced.

This modern 4-star superior hotel is located opposite the OLMA trade fair grounds, just a 10-minute walk from St. Gallen’s Old Town and the train station. A casino is located on site.

Only the name reminds us of the military. This historic hotel is one of the most beautiful in Switzerland.

I had a wonderful stay. The building, the garden and the restaurant have a charm The perfect combination of an old era and a new one. The room was very comfortable. A unique light from the windows. The view of the city and the forest is magical. Quiet . The lighting is ideal to calm you down. The interior made you feel at home, with style and soft lines. I want to go into detail about cleanliness Perhaps the cleanest hotel I have traveled to. The common areas smelled of lavender and the room was obsessively bright. The hotel staff is genuinely welcoming. The people there showed you personal interest. The location is ideal. Breakfast in the lovely garden is a very beautiful experience Of course I honored the desserts every day since they were so fresh and delicious.

Very good hotel while travelling. It was possible to check-in automatically by just grabbing the key and entering the room. I will book again while travelling from Italy to Germany by car to split the trip in two.

The room was spacious, the bed comfy and the pillows were perfect. The room and bathroom were spotless as well. Breakfast had plenty of options and not crowded. Location was central, close to the parking as well. Would highly recommend and would stay again.
