Check-in set the tone: reception was professional and genuinely warm. The lobby is beautiful, with a cinematic theme that nods to the building’s past. Classic movie-star photos and even a “red carpet” down the stairs. Our room was spacious and spotless; each room is dedicated to a film star (ours was Kirk Douglas), and the mattress was very comfortable. Breakfast was rich and varied with lovely service. Tasty options and made-to-order omelets. In the evenings, the dining room turns into a restaurant, which is convenient because there aren’t many dining options in the area at night. The underground paid parking is very handy (best to reserve in advance).

Iriarte Jauregia is a beautifully restored 17th-century palace is located in fabulous Basque countryside, 30 km from the coast. Enjoy fine dining, stunning views and eye-catching design.

This was our absolute favourite place to stay during our recent 10 day trip to the Basque area of Spain. The house (a 17th century palace) is magnificent, the decor is out of this world, our room was amazing and views out over the countryside were just beautiful with the sound of the cows grazing (with bells around) their necks was pure Alpine….Dinner & breakfast were excellent too.

The place itself is cool as it has different rooms built into an old warehouse. It has a spacious gym with all the equipment needed and a canteen + vending machines. The TV remote in our room didn't have batteries but the receptionist helped us very kindly with a new remote. We wish we could have stayed longer.

Everything was so clean. Staff very helpful and it was really easy to find. Lots of parking and although we missed the evening food the breakfast was good.

The modern Hotel Trueba is 200 metres from San Sebastián’s Zurriola Beach and Kursaal Convention Centre. It offers air-conditioned rooms with free Wi-Fi, a balcony and flat-screen TV.
