Most lovely little hotel, run by two sisters, Vaso and Anastasia, who go every extra mile to make your stay special. We were there for a week and felt like part of the family. Great breakfast with Cretan specialties, different dishes every day and at least one homemade cake baked by one of the sisters every morning. Nice pool area to relax at during the hottest time of the day. Greatly located in Agia Galini, only a couple of minutes’ walk from the port, beaches, restaurants, small supermarkets, whatever you like. Rooms are spotless, cleaned every day (we had a small apartment with kitchenette). Would come back any day, and so would my family. Thank you for a wonderful week, dear Vaso and Anastasia!

Erofili is a small family run hotel situated on the upper part of the village of Agia Galini, offering lovely views over the village, the harbour and the Libyan Sea.

Erofili Rooms is a little heaven in the south of Crete. Totally Mamma Mia and hippie chill vibes. The staff was amazing, so kind and always helpful. Had some discussions in the afternoon with them on Cretan culture and went to see them perform their great music. We loved the location of “small town/village” and were able to visit most of Crete with the car. Definitely recommend and hope for sure to come back one day.

Even after reading all the reviews and seeing the photos, upon arrival we were simply astonished by the room. It was so beautiful, modern, neat, clean and cosy! The bed was the best we had in Crete so far! It was even difficult to get up on time for breakfast :) but even when we missed it, the owners kindly gave us some breakfast takeaway on our way to the beach. You get freshly squeezed orange juice and home made baked cakes, which are amazing. Free water and drink in the fridge. Shampoo, bathrobes and slippers provided. There is also a spa room with a small pool for massage appointments, we regret we did not make use of it during our stay. Parking is spacious and right next to the hotel. We were going to the beach for the last time after checking out and the owners kindly allowed us to store our luggage and take a shower on our way back before we depart :)

Beautifully designed, in keeping with the local environment. Loved the olive trees surrounding the place. Really comfortable and fantastic aircon. Nikos very friendly and helpful. Really enjoyable holiday for our first time in Crete. We had a week of busyness exploring the cities and sites in the North, followed by relaxing at Litiniana villas. Was great and special thanks to Nikos who made us feel that we got to know the place a bit, as guests rather than tourists.

Alexander Mountain Resort is situated in Gerakari, 35 km south of Rethymno. Set on the foot of Mount Kedros, it features an outdoor pool, tennis court and 50-person conference hall.

The village, the locals, especially the food. The hotel has a nice "luxury" feel to it for a very fair price.
