The room was great, the staff friendly, and the location was brilliant - easy to reach from the airport by metro (M11 to Gayrettepe and then the M2 to Sishane), and then from it, it was an easy walk across to the old town down hill (and for the up-hill return trip there's the simple F2). The hotel is twenty steps off the vibrant pedestrianised road that's the heart of contemporary Istanbul, where there are great restaurants and bars at normal prices. We were very glad we chose to stay on this side of the Galata bridge as opposed to the old town which was mobbed by tourists at all times.
