From the delightful reception staff of this exceptional establishment, with their warm welcome, outstanding service, friendly and attentive hospitality (special mentions although I know I must have missed some names: Javier, Ramón, Manuel, and Belen), to the beautiful room with the stylish and elegant decor and a very equipped bathroom with the best rain shower I have ever used - I also booked a room with a view and small balcony overlooking the gorgeous port so this was an added advantage and despite it overlooking the port, the soundproofing was so efficient I could hardly hear any noise from the outside - to the cleaning crew who alway left the room immaculately clean and smelling so fresh (also a special shout-out to Johana, Luz, Estrellé, and Vauesa) - to the location of the hotel, a mere two minutes away from the port promenade and then further down to Muelle Uno, and a short distance to the historic Center and main shopping street (Calle Larios). I stayed at Room Mate Valeria for a whole month and each week, when I came back to my hotel room, I would find a little something waiting for me as a nice gesture from the hotel staff, it was so cute. The hotel’s motto is “mi casa es su casa” (my home is your home) and they follow that motto to the letter. A didn’t have breakfast at the hotel so I can’t comment on that, but it is definitely a hotel you would love to stay at as your home away from home! Bikes are also available at an additional cost. super clean, easy to find and wonderful staff. Naomi is a wonderful asset to the Villa- friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Cozy promenade with lots of restaurants, train station is not far by, you can reach Malaga easily. Definatelly coming back here for the 4th time ! :D

Hotel Puerta del Mar is located in a quiet pedestrianised street next to the famous Balcón de Europa in Nerja, and just 100 metres from the beach. It has a rooftop saltwater pool and offers free WiFi throughout. Great location. No need for a rental car as everywhere was walkable within the town. Staff were very nice - super friendly with my 4 year old child. Rooftop pool is obviously quite small but it was very peaceful - even during the fiesta weekend when the whole of Nerja was extremely busy.
