Piper's Tryst has a special charm and coolness factor, that IMHO, can't be matched by a corporate chain hotel or most independent hotels. While it's not modern it has been refurbished. It is comfortable and conveniently located to many excellent restaurants such as Kelp and Ardnamurchan, plus lots of great pubs. The Piper's Tryst has the x-factor. For instance, our room had a large wooden window that you could open enough to jump out if you chose. Which means you can ventilate your room well, unlike most hotel windows that only open a crack or not at all. The bed and pillows were comfortable and clean. The breakfast was simple but of superior quality, fresh cut fruit, porridge and fresh baked rolls, with good jam, not little plastic packets of nondescript jelly. The small bar was fun and though the restaurant was closed I heard it was a hidden gem...next time. Also there happened to be an impromptu band of 8 or 9 young musicians that played Scottish music to everyone's pleasure. And, your stay helps support the National Piping Center, located in the same building. Highly recommended.

Within a tree-lined Victorian terrace, this 5-star boutique hotel is located in the fashionable West End, only 30 minutes' drive from Loch Lomond. Its oak-panelled bistro serves fresh, Scottish cuisine and over 300 wines. what a magnificent hotel. every room is different. all have so much character. this old building feels a bit like hogwarts. I am sure some of the stairs moved, and some of the pictures talked. we spend hours roaming around the hotel looking for hidden gems like the reading room and even the gym (not really a gem but it was fun looking for it). breakfast is a bit pricey for what you get but the room and the buffet are beautiful. staff is amazing, funny, smart, nice and professional. I would definitely come back. hopefully soon.

Friendly staff, they hold our luggages as we arrived way earlier than our check-in time. Great location, super central and a short walk from the two main stations. Close to pubs, restaurants, shops etc... The room was big and clean, and the bathroom superb, we had all the necessary for our stay. Well soundproofed, and the bed was comfortable. Also, the check-out time was at midday, which was absolutely fantastic and rare to find nowadays!
