This is the the best breakfast of our whole trip in Italy.

This spectacular hilltop village in the Gran Sasso National Park has been perfectly preserved. Rooms and junior suites are scattered in the original, period buildings. What a unique hotel high up in the mountains in a 16th century abandoned village. The floors and ceilings are original with comfortable beds made of wool. Modern bathrooms though. Lovely soap and oil in the bathroom. Staff were fantastic. The restaurant was rustic. We also enjoyed the extra activity of truffle hunting. The separate bar was also excellent

Owner also owns restaurant and grocery store nearby. He makes every effort to make the stay and dining experiences amazing. Short walk from the Piazza where markets and events are hosted. The historic district is peaceful to walk around. The room had every amenity needed and was very cozy. My stay was the perfect getaway and I look forward to visiting again!
