Re-opened in 2012 after thorough renovations, the Tokyo Station Hotel is registered as an Important Cultural Property and boasts gorgeous rooms in a classical European style. It features a French restaurant and stylish bars, and free WiFi is offered throughout. Its entrance is right next to the Marunouchi South Exit of Tokyo Station. The breakfast buffet and the staff escorting and carrying our luggage to the exact place on the platform where we boarded our Shinkansen car. We did not request this service it was just offered. Service was wonderful.

Situated in the Asakusa area, Ryokan Asakusa Shigetsu has a history of 70 years. The accommodation boasts a view of the Tokyo Skytree from its Hinoki wood bath.

There is a bath for each gender on site and both the female and male baths offer a view of Senso-ji Temple’s Five-storied Pagoda. Really lovely and convenient ryokan located in the heart of Asakusa. The room was very comfy and quiet which we appreciated after a long day exploring Tokyo. The best part was definitely the bath on the 6th floor - it was sooo nice. Highly recommend this place.

Open from December 2015, Richmond Hotel Premier Tokyo Schole is located just a 2-minute walk from Oshiage Subway Station, the closest station from the Tokyo Skytree. It features free WiFi and a restaurant. I only booked for one night because the other hotel I stayed at was terrible, but wow, this place completely blew me away! The rooms are so big, spacious, and incredibly clean – especially compared to the typically smaller hotel rooms you find in Japan. It felt like I had so much room to breathe, with plenty of space for my luggage and even to move around comfortably. I fell in love instantly! It’s a bit on the expensive side, but trust me when I say it’s 100% worth it. I’m definitely staying here next time I visit!
