Back to La Piazzetta for the second time and it was the best decision during our roadtrip in the Yucatan Peninsula! I remembered Piazzetta being a family-owned hotel in a beautiful setting with traditional rooms, lovely views and welcoming people! Our stay exceeded my expectations! We were welcomed by Leo (the owner) and it immediately felt we came back to visit old friends! Leo helped us and gave us recommendations of what not to be missed that same evening and the day after, restaurant options and must-do's! The room was big enough for four people (we were with three) and it had all the needed amenities! Perfectly clean and comfortable. We highly appreciated the coffee/juice/brioche mini breakfast offered the morning after, the help with carrying the luggage and the attention to details. We were quite sad we only booked for 1 night but it's definitely a place I would be returning in the future! Still lots to see in the area and such a beautiful welcoming place does make the whole experience much much better!

Free WiFi access is available throughout. The Diplomat is a beautifully designed boutique hotel in a wonderfully relaxed setting. From the moment we stepped through the door we were so warmly welcomed by Sara, Eric and their team and loved every minute of our stay. The welcome margarita was the best of our 3 week stay in Mexico (we tried many!) and our enormous room, which opened onto the pool terrace was simply perfect. Sara organised massages in our room on our first evening and her restaurant suggestions were perfect. We had already booked a guide (Raul Gil +52 999 157 9312) who, by coincidence, turned out to be the guide that The Diplomat used. He was fantastic and took us for a great day out to the Celustan, followed by visits to an old Hacienda and Uxmal (in our opinion a way better experience than Chichen Itza). The delicious breakfasts at the hotel were different each day and it was a treat to have afternoon tea!

The property is air conditioned and has free Wi-Fi connection access throughout. Loved this hotel! From when Gabriel collected us to bring us to Valladolid, ( & stopping at Cobá to give us a flavour of Mayan culture) it was all amazing. Everyone was so eager to help ( my husband became quite ill) and Rubin and Gabriel were so attentive. Breakfast was gorgeous but the setting of this little oasis is even better. As my husband wasn’t well I opted to eat dinner in hotel. this too was fantastic, as were the cocktails! Thanks so much to Gabriel - recommended an unbelievable guide in Rio Lagartos ( biologist) and a driver to take us there, both whom accommodated a change of day due to illness. Would def return, thank you.

The refreshing pool was a welcome retreat after a day of exploring, and the easy parking made coming and going a breeze. One of the highlights of my stay was the proximity to the center, allowing me to easily access all of Merida's historical tourist attractions. Plus, having the owner onsite added an extra layer of hospitality, as they were always available to offer friendly advice and assistance.
