Very convenient location to stay a few days in Basel. A little bit out of the centre of Basel, but excellent access to the city using public transport, which comes for free with the guest card. Covered free parking across the road. This must be the 4th time we have stayed here. Very friendly staff.

This hostel sets a high benchmark for hostel accommodations. The building is designed as a modern industrial building. Upon entering my room, I was pleasantly surprised by the space. There's only a max of 4 people in the room in capsule- like beds. There's a usb outlet near the bed and a lampshade. There's also a cabinet that you can put your stuff on, but you have to provide your own lock. I like how the room is soundproof. The common bathroom is also spacious. There are 4 toilet cubicles and 4 separate showers. Towels are also provided, as well as 2 in 1 shampoo and body wash. Staff are friendly and ready to assist. Overall, this boutique hostel is nothing short of exceptional.

A very fun place, you can tell just how much energy went into the design and overall experience. Excellent hospitality. A young man at the front desk was very helpful in directing us toward art in the city. The room also came with a flotation device for swimming in the river and tickets for discounted public transport.

Steinenschanze Charming City & Garden Hotel is less than 5 minutes' walk from Basel's city center and the university, close to historical buildings and the old town.

I was greeted by Elmira at the welcome desk and she made my stay very special. Always greeted with a warm smile and the hotel staff attended to all my requests. Alex from reception also had great dinner recommendations. The hotel is clean, very central, quiet, close to the main station, and has perfect water pressure. The breakfast is also fresh and super yummy.

The host, Karine, is excellent. We were leaving the next morning to catch a flight and she made sure to call a cab the night before. It's a little tricky to find the address, but she got up at 6AM to guide the cab to pick us up. Apartment is very clean, up to date, and actually close to a wonderful French bakery a block away. Very comfortable for a family of four. Highly recommend!
