I liked that the room was adequately spacious, neat and tidy and well - organized. Also, the restaurant contact was friendly and welcoming.

Built in November 2015, the Schützen Steffisburg is a 10-minute drive from Thun´s Old Town, and offers modern accommodations with free WiFi, a garden with a sun terrace and an à-la-carte restaurant.

We stayed in the guard tower room, which is a bit different from most of the rooms in the hotel. It's right above the castle gate, with windows on 3 sides, but since the walls are 70cm thick and made of stone, it's very well insulated from noise. The conveniences/electrical system were slightly constrained by the fact that we were surrounded by thick stone, but they nonethless did a great job of making a beautiful, comfortable, and engagingly quirky room. Breakfast was also exceptional, with some of the best bread and pastry I've had in Switzerland.

Perfect location (a couple minutes walk to a train station / a bus stop practically next to the door) Also we prefer Thun over other towns in the area since it's not that overcrowded. Rich kitchen equipment. There is a comprehensive house manual with all the instructions. The house isn't big, but it's pretty cozy.
