Pandora Vista Retreat was truly a highlight of our trip. The resort is beautiful, peaceful, and feels like a hidden gem in the heart of Zhangjiajie. The hospitality was exceptional — Linda, in particular, went above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience possible. She greeted us with genuine warmth, helped us plan our itinerary with a hand-drawn map, and even organised pick-up and drop-off services to fit our short schedule. When it started raining, staff immediately brought us umbrellas. It genuinely felt like staying with family — so welcoming, kind, and attentive to every detail.

Our stay at Yuelu Homestay was beyond fantastic. It’s located just a 5-minute walk from the west gate of park, making it a perfect base for exploring the stunning scenery. The rooms were clean, cozy, and provided everything we needed after long days of exploring, including a hot and cold filtered water dispenser and access to a washing machine. The proprietor, Lily, treated us like family from the moment we arrived, always making sure we had everything we needed. Lily prepared delicious meals for us each day, arranged our park tickets, and gave us invaluable advice on what to see and how to navigate the park, including maps she marked for us. We couldn’t have found our way around the park without her help. If you're looking for a place that feels like a home away from home, with excellent hospitality and a prime location for exploring the park, Yuelu Homestay is the perfect choice. I can't recommend it enough!

The best of the hotel is the service. They organised everything for us. Tours, transfer to the airport. We didn’t need to worry about anything. We really enjoy our time there.

The staff was very friendly and forthcoming. We cane in very late in the evening, she even woke up to open the doors for us. She gave us extra blankets and warming flasks for us to stay warm in the cold weather. The breakfast and dinner were homecooked. It really is a tight-knit small family hotel!

I am very satisfied with the accommodation experience. We could communicate with Long Jing about the daily itinerary every day. She picked us up and dropped us off every day. We had a pleasant stay for many days. There was also a free laundry room and freshly ground coffee. For the first time, we had freshly ground coffee which I love. The breakfast was very abundant and different every day. We chose to have dinner at the guesthouse every night because we were too hungry at noon in the scenic area. I am very happy and hope to be able to help you.

This hotel, located at the west entrance of the national park, is truly a hidden gem. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, and they speak excellent English. You feel at home the moment you arrive! The food is absolutely delicious – we’d come back in a heartbeat.

Carol is absolutely fantastic, super helpful and kind- I really owe my amazing experience to her! Her mum in the attached restaurant is also lovely, food there was great, room was spacious and clean and comfortable. Perfect location for the national park with the avatar mountains and Carol was great at giving the best tips and route which meant no queuing! She was also wonderful at organising transport etc and was always there to help. Such a great stay- I want to come back!

First of all, the location: the house is situated just inside the Zhangjiajie Forest National Park, by the West Gate. If you plan to really see the Park, this is the best place to stay for sure since it does take a good hour from Zhangjiajie City to reach. Instead of getting up super early every day, we could easily just walk outside the house and wave for the bus to stop and let us on, then we’d drive maybe 5 minutes (if at all) and arrive at the cable car station. The facilities are amazing, too. The room was beautiful and nicely renovated and it even had one of those neat automatic toilets. The house had multiple seating areas outside, like a terrace and a pool (which was closed since it was the low season), but our absolute favorite was the patio by the river. It’s so peaceful and idyllic and really lets you appreciate the natural scenery. Secondly: the food! Delicious breakfast and dinner! Most importantly: our hosts! These people are the warmest, kindest, most gracious hosts I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. Especially Nihong. Our time in Zhangjiajie would not have been the same without her. She was our tour guide for the first two full days, showing us so much of the park we would have never seen otherwise. She took time out of her day for us for three straight days just to make sure we had the best possible experience. We learned so much about Tujia culture as well, which was so interesting. Her English is so good and she was always interested in learning more, and in turn she helped us learn a few Chinese words and phrases. And her husband drove us to the Railway Station when we had a very early train to catch, which was such a big help. We could not have been more lucky with these kind people! All in all, if you’re thinking of staying here, please do! You won’t regret it. We certainly hope we can return one day! Xiexie! Wo ai ni Zhangjiajie!

The receptionist was fantastic. Provided us with a map, and showed us where to go, even offered to drop us at the west gate entrance of the park at no charge. When we checked out, he organised cars to drop us off at our next hotel in the city of Zhangjiajie at a discount. Exceptional service.
