I was honestly amazed by the cost/awesomeness ratio. Yes, I'm using the word awesome twice. Got to stay in a single room and in a dorm and both were fantastic. Highly recommended!

Absolutely huge suite with two bathrooms, one with bath, one with shower. Two sets of closets a living room area and large bedroom. Two televisions. Great wifi, bed was harder than we're used to, but still very comfortable and lots of pillows to choose from. Clean as a whistle and the Minibar was included (non alcoholic). Staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was really good.

Rarely have I been so impressed by a hotel’s service, cleanliness and comfort. The staff was extremely helpful, starting by providing directions and recommendations for where to go based on the time I had available. When I mistakenly thought the sink had a defect and reported it, the staff came up immediately to try and rectify it. He explained to me how the drainage worked. The breakfast spread was also superb, with a daily homemade dish. For the morning I was there, it was an excellent French toast. The home was compact, clean and comfortable. The lighting and shower systems were also intuitive to use. There was also a nice minibar, though I didn’t use it. All in all, I felt that Stern am Rathaus was the highlight of my stay in Cologne!

This is a beautiful little gem. Walking distance to the bridges, and very close to public transportation. We also enjoyed the restaurants on this side of the river. The room and bathroom were really large and beautifully decorated. Staff was wonderful.
