When we arrived we were welcomed with matcha tea and a traditional desert which were refreshing after a very long journey.
The room was outstanding, exactly like in the pictures, loved the traditional Japanese style. In the room we had everything we needed from toiletries to coffee maker. The room was clean, had AC in case we were cold, the bed was comfy and it had a view to the garden. The Ryokan was quiet, perfect for a few days of relaxation.
We especially loved the yukatas. The view to the central garden was everything we had hoped for. The main star for us was the private onsen which was accessible directly from the shower.
The kaiseki breakfast and dinner were amazing. The staff even adapted the menu to our dietary needs, for example we couldn't eat raw fish and they were happy to change some of the ingredients. The restaurant is cozy and elegant and all the tables have privacy.
The staff was kind and helpful throughout our entire stay.
The neighborhood was quiet, clean. There are several hikes you can take in the nearby woods. From some of them you can even see Mount Fuji.
A true Ryokan experience.

The hotel's location was quite convenient. A short bus or cab ride from Shuzenji station. From the hotel, it was a lovely stroll to Shuzenji Temple nearby. What stood out to me most was the staff's genuine hospitality. They didn't speak much English but were very accommodating at all times. Neither my mom nor I eat beef, so with advance notice, they replaced beef with lobster. The room was very spacious and comfortable. Although the public bath was small, it was cozy and well-equipped. It was a shame we only stayed one night.

I booked this ryokan to celebrate my partner's 30th birthday. This is the first time we have stayed at a ryokan, and the stay has exceeded our expectations!
The ryokan itself is a national cultural asset, indeed the interior is absolutely stunning, with lots of nature and a pond where you can feed the koi.
Our room was Japanese style with a river view, the view is impressive. The onsens inside the ryokan are very comforting, as well as the kaiseki dinner and the hearty breakfast.
Staff was very friendly and helpful.

The private bath in the room was amazing and we used it many times during our short one-night stay. The facility was huge with sprawling, beautiful forest views and even a koi pond! There were many free refreshments provided during our stay like alcoholic / soft drinks, tea / coffee in a dedicated room open all times, ice cream, ramen, etc.

Such a unique place. Enjoyed finally having some comfy couches to relax in! Very well fitted out with absolutely everything you could need. Centrally located to all the sights. This would be a great place for a group of people as there is so much seating and even two kitchens. Highly recommend.
