Absolutely beautiful ryokan with stunning views of the river. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean, simple, and comfortable, and our private onsen was a highlight! The multi-course dinner and breakfast service were absolutely fantastic as well. We took advantage of the free shuttle service to and from Minakami Station, which was also easy to navigate. This was the perfect quiet and relaxing escape during our honeymoon!

Good plan for sleep and social. House was spacious and clean, games to play and good area for eating and relaxing. Excellent utilities and a big plus for having dishing service in a private rent. Good area to dry ski equipment and clothes.

Loved being tucked away from town on the orchard. The apples and apple juice were delicious and the owners were super helpful as we had an injury to deal with (a trip to the hospital), and they even gave the sorry sore one a lift home. Amazing hospitality. Would definitely recommend. Very comfortable and spacious with all the required appliances

Craig was a great host, accommodating to his guests, with great sense of hospitality. The location was perfect in the middle of valley, pretty calm and surrounded by greenery. Breakfast was healthy and energetic. Bonus point (on top of great coffee for coffee lovers 😊), the Lodge offers activities such as rafting, canyoning, etc. through local partners with negotiated rates. Such a lovely and more traditional experience, the food, the people, sleeping on futon, using the kotatsu and the onsen was so nice. Absolutely loved the stay here. I'm not a big seafood person but I still really enjoyed all of the meals, there was always plenty of delicious things to eat even if there were one or two I was being picky about.

Memorable experience. Very charming Ryokan with a long >100 year history but well maintained, and spotlessly clean. The room was amazing with a great view of the mountain opposite and the river below. The in-room onsen was definitely the highlight. Alot of effort and attention to detail went into guest comfort and satisfaction. The Kaiseki dinner was amazing, beautifully presented and overwhelming in the number of courses served. Similar for breakfast. And to ensure no guest went hungry, delicious desserts were served for tea, and inari sushi for supper. Heavy snowfall transformed the landscape into a winter wonderland, which was truly a sight to behold. Compliments to Ms Suta and her team.

This lovely Airbnb property is a gem find. It is located very near the heart of the town, you can walk from this property to all the nice cafes and eateries around this place. There’s a weekend market at the town center with crafts workshops for the kids and adults. There’s plenty to do from hikes, water activities (in summer and autumn), onsens (all year round) and skiing. It’s about 30mins drive to ski slopes. The property is fully furnished just bring your toothbrush. You can cook your meals in the lovely kitchen (my husband has kitchen envy now). And if you want to, you can let the owners (who live literally next door btw) know when booking and they can prepare the BBQ pit for you. It has washer&dryer, a lovely bathroom with bathtub. Yes it has free wifi. Great for couples or small families. It has a western bedroom with a queen size bed. There is also a tatami room that sleeps 2. This Airbnb is so nice you don’t want to leave it when you get there!
