This is a wonderful place to experience Tunis Medina as it is in the heart of the old town. The house itself is like an ethnographic museum with the old architecture and interesting elements of the interior - something I recommend. The staff are super friendly and helpful, and breakfast is gigantic and delicious.

El Patio is in a fantastic location but still remains quiet and local. The guesthouse is stunning, a calm oasis and feels warm and welcoming. The staff Ahmed and the woman cooking were so kind, really welcoming and helpful and just maintained a lovely energy in the guesthouse. The breakfasts were home cooked and delicious! Sometimes enough to keep me going through lunch!
I hope to visit again and will recommend to anyone coming to Tunis.

A truly stunning apartment in the Medina.
There was a wonderful outdoor area for us to relax in and to escape the hustle and bustle of the Medina.
The hosts were an amazing genuine couple, very friendly and helpful.
They brought us fresh fruits every evening, and we received a delicious welcome drink (citronnade). There was also cold water waiting for us in the fridge upon arrival.
There was a fully equipped kitchen for us to use as we pleased.
The host also cooked us a very tasty traditional Tunisian meal.
The apartment was very clean and the beds were very comfortable.
We cannot recommend a stay here enough, should we return to Tunis, we will definitely book here again.

Absolutely beautiful little spot. Staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating, even coming out at midnight to help find us in the souk warren on arrival. The rooms and spaces have so much character and the breakfast was a lovely way to start the day. The location is ideal for exploring Tunis and is a little oasis amongst the wonderful chaos. Only regret not being able to stay longer.

The villa is actually a two level building and another one for the roof top (the rooftop is good for absorbing some sun and getting in a view of the tunisian mosques and buildings structure. It is not for a long stay though. The bottom floor had two big bedrooms, each with its own beautifully designed and well maintained toilets and showers. The top floor had yet another one humongous bedroom with one more great bathroom. The ground floor has a suitable kitchen with a mix of maintaining the ambiance of the old architecture yet new utensils and kitchen tools. It is was good enough for our needs and in that floor is another toilet by the door just in case you didn’t have enough! The apartment has a small living room couch and NO TV (which might not appeal to some but for us, it was perfect). There is an amazing hall/yard like where you can sit if the weather allows it and take in all the feelings of buildings from old centuries. The internet and phone coverage is not good in all places but work fine in the living room which was good enough for us to stay connected when needed but if you need your mobile coverage in all places (in bed), you will not have that.
Nothing better than super could be said about the owner’s hospitality. She is welcoming, helpful, full of good recommendations, kept the apartment very well supported with towels, soap, toilet paper, everything that might be needed. I highly recommend this place for a group who are willing to feel Tunis.
There is no parking “right” in front of the door but one minute walk and there is a street where we were lucky enough to park sometimes but it is not the easiest.

La Chambre bleue is in the perfect location if you want to visit Tunis and the medina. Marouane is a wonderful host who created the most beautiful place by restoring a part of an old palace. This house has so much charme and character that we cannot wait to visit again. Also, make sure to not miss out on Sonja's homemade breakfast- you will not find a better one!

Dar Ben Turkia is an absolute gem—a shining new star born from the legacy of Dar El Jeld, long celebrated as the finest boutique hotel in Tunis. Nestled in the heart of the Medina, this newly renovated historical building effortlessly blends timeless elegance with contemporary comfort. Every corner whispers stories of the past while offering the modern amenities today’s traveler craves.
What truly sets Dar Ben Turkia apart, beyond its stunning architecture and flawless design, is its incredible staff. Cheerful, warm, and genuinely eager to help, there’s no request too small or too big—they go above and beyond with heart and soul. You don’t just feel welcomed here, you feel cared for.
And then there’s the hammam—an experience so rich and rejuvenating. A visit to Dar Ben Turkia without indulging in its hammam would be incomplete.
In short, Dar Ben Turkia is more than a hotel—it’s an experience, a piece of living history. A stay here is unforgettable.

It's basic of course, but for what you're paying, it's great value. Location is super, near to the heart of the medina and an easy taxi drop off location, but still quiet at night! The place is super spacious and while I did not use it, the kitchen seems well stocked. Wifi and AC were strong, bed was comfortable, really couldn't complain! And the host is super responsive and helpful over text! She made it possible for me to check in early because I had no where to leave my luggage after an early morning flight, which I was so thankful for.
