Very nicely designed hotel with beautiful room designs! The receptionist was very friendly and introduced all facilities and the room! Everything was very new (only opened for 8 month) and very clean!

The owner was kind and great at conversation. Also gave us a tour of the facilities in a helpful and efficient manner. Everything was very well kept and clean, all the essentials for a backpacker were available and clearly organized.

A Touch of Zen is a fantastic place to stay in Kaohsiung. It was our first time in Taiwan and neither my partner nor I speak Mandarin so it was especially helpful that the hosts are fluent in English. They provided maps and answered questions about things to do in Kaohsiung (which there's a ton - it's a great place to visit). The guesthouse is conveniently located within walking distance of the Lotus Pond and the surrounding temples - a 15 minute walk or 5 minute bus ride or taxi to the High Speed rail station (which of course gets you easily to Kaohsiung from Taipei). If you love film A Touch of Zen is a special treat because the tasteful Japanese decor (the building is a former naval home - traditional Japanese construction) includes some fun film props - and the chance to watch something on Netflix projected in the common area. While we were there the hosts kindly set up a movie for us to watch. The area of the guesthouse itself is great to walk around with wonderful places to eat close by. The beds are comfy with tea and water at your disposal. All around a wonderful place to stay.

The home cooked breakfast was lovely and the rooms were very nice, clean, and spacious for a family of 5. Excellent quality for price. A 10 mins walk to the metro station to get around town, and about a 15 mins walk to the high speed rail station. Friendly staff. Easy check in and check out. There is a Carrefour grocery nearby.

Yan Ying Chen Xi enjoys a location in Kaohsiung, 2.2 miles from Houyi Station and 2.7 miles from Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts.

The room was very clean and comfortable. We were able to walk or u-bike to the closest MRT. There was also a good local breakfast open early about 5 mins away.

Just a 6-minute walk from Rueifong Night Market and 0.6 miles from Zuoying Station, Luna's House features accommodations in Kaohsiung, with a terrace.

The location is near the night market and the Kaoshiung Arena Mall. The property is new and very clean. Our host, Steve gave us a map and recommendations on the best places to eat and go to. Property is also close to the Kaoshiung Arena subway station. The property also has unlimited coffee and snacks.

The hotel is a short walk from a metro station, and centrally located--a good base for excursions. (We enjoyed 4-seat biking and the beach on Cijin and many up-close encounters with macaques on Monkey Mountain.) There are stores in the vicinity that could provide for most travelers' needs. We found good restaurant options nearby and a large night market is a 10-15 min. walk. Our room was large, and generous bath accessories were provided.
