A fantastic beachfront area, it feels perfectly safe moving around along the promenade, police and cleaners always visible. Daytime. Great beaches, you can enjoy the sun and the sea all year round. Ushaka aquarium and dolphinarium is world class. Minitown is good to visit for children. Go shopping at Musgrave Centre, still a really great place to shop! The natural history museum (science, with stuffed animals, is amazing and should be visited by all, behind the city hall, free entry), easy to park behind the Royal Hotel there, the football stadium is great, Mitchell Park, and the restaurants around the Florida Road area are well worth a visit. Lets face it, you can't get better food than in South Africa. Enjoy! Park

We always enjoy the beautiful sea when visiting Durban, along with the wide variety of activities along the beachfront, such as the dolphin and seal shows. A visit to uShaka Marine World is always a highlight. Exploring the Ballito and Umhlanga areas is equally pleasant, offering charming sights and relaxing experiences. Gateway Mall is more than just a shopping destination; we especially enjoyed the go-karting there. One of the most memorable attractions was Crocodile Creek, home to over 500 crocodiles. Overall, Durban’s stunning landscapes and vibrant activities make every visit truly special.

Fishing was nice and the stay at the High tide was very nice although I would put one more curtain in each room if you sleep the curtains leave space for the light to come in while you sleep. Otherwise everything was perfect

Just like any city it is busy in town because I had an opportunity to drive around and one thing that caught my eye was the visibility of police and metro officials. I mean they were all over and that showed the level of commitment by the law enforcement in making sure that people are safe

Umhlanga is always a treat, everything is withing walking distance, so you can park your car on arrival and only use if again when you leave, lots of restaurants in area, shopping options, and fantastic hotels and accommodation! One of my personal favorites is Oyster Box, very welcoming, luxurious and the food is quite honestly amazing! I have yet to try a dish that i don't love, (breakfast, lunch & dinner) and it has the most amazing views. I always make a point of attending one High tea at Oyster Box while in Umhlanga, what an experience.

This self catering unit which is what we asked for/selected, has thee most amazing location in central Umhlanga, with theee most awesome views, from every room and their respective balconies. In fact, the entire unit has a wrap-around balcony, with majestic views all round. Also, the building has a direct connection/link with a major shopping mall, for absolute convenience and fine dining experiences.

Great central but quiet location. Very close to the main Umhlanga attractions but a reasonable distance from central Durban too. Room was clean and spacious with a comfortable bed and very friendly staff. The view of the ocean from the dining room is amazing and the breakfast is served hot, fresh and is quite filling. The staff is also very kind and friendly and are on the ball with everything they do.

The friendliness and helpfulness from the Cleaning Staff, the Receptionist, the Porter, the Waiters to the Manager was fantastic. The Capital Pearls Hotel is centrally located and within walking distance to the beach, Umhlanga Rocks Whalebone Pier and restaurants. The view from my son’s room to where the super cars were parked at Oceans Mall was incredible.

I really enjoyed my stay at Royal Ushaka Hotel. Loved the location of the hotel since it's central and close to various amenities within central Durban. The hotel room was very clean and the staff were friendly.
