The historical hotel had many decorative items, and the young host family brought new initiative and warmth to the stay. In my particular case, as a solo older female hiking/camping the Hexen-Harzer-Stieg, I booked a bed in the 8-bed dorm room and appreciated a comfortable bed, warm building, and a great breakfast to propel me on the next leg of the journey. Altenbrak I had only known from driving through it, and the Hexen-Harzer-Stieg showed me much more of this very beautiful area in the Harz.

Great welcome from Dana. She gave us lots of really helpful information. Our studio was bijou but with well thought out use of space. The kitchenette was compact but again the use of space was excellent. Very comfy bed. We loved the art work! The outside garden seating areas and the gazebo were a bonus. We had a lovely stay in a area of Germany we hadn't visited previously

One of the nicest apartments I have ever visited via booking.com. Pillows, books, even a free drink - all themed with germanic mythology. But the best thing I liked is a view from the window of a tranquil street in Thale at night.
