The location is really great. There is a lot of walking and hiking areas. I wish I stayed longer then 2 nights. The host, Luisa was really nice, kind and made us feel so welcome. This hotel is one of the best I have stayed in. A modern building, very well appointed and equipped. My room was in effect a suite. Staff most pleasant and efficient. The breakfast lived up to its description as gourmet. The restaurant too was of a high standard. Plenty of parking space and a quiet location. I could not fault anything.

Südpfalz is a recently renovated apartment in Barbelroth, where guests can make the most of its free bikes and barbecue facilities.

Manfred, the host, turned out to be a very resourceful and kind person. Not only did he smoothly resolve the initial booking issue (not his fault), he also helped me with my soaking wet gear (rain riding) and arranged an appointment in a garage, so I could get my motorbike repaired without delays, on a Saturday! He found a respectable, local garage, guided me all the way there and waited for almost two hours until he was sure I was dealt with properly. In the end, he treated me to lunch, so I didn't have to travel hungry. Amazing person, very reliable and kind. Highly recommended!!!
