A fantastic place to stay, in my opinion - my room was large and offered everything needed. It was not the bland usual hotel thing but rather it was nicely decorated for a distinct experience. The location right on the lake is wonderful, with views across the water to the north, and a deck for sitting outside if one wants to, during meals or just for pleasure. Overall, this hotel gives the impression that the owners care and want guests to be comfortable, and it is still small enough to not be the usual bland thing of a large hotel, while offering all one could wish for. Downtown is within walking distance.

Very quite, without tourists around and you can really enjoy the calm environment, the hosts were very helpful and attentive fixing a problem with the WiFi during Christmas eve. Very close to Lidl and the cabin was very warm, we stayed during the Christmas week with - 5 deg. Ps: we even received a surprise visit from Santa Claus in the cabin we stayed in, thank you for the experience 😊

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Hotel Kemijärvi! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by how immaculately clean and well-maintained the entire hotel was. We loved the location right by the lake, especially with the outdoor fire where you can cook your meals and enjoy breakfast in the morning. Everything was spotless. The host was also very kind, when we asked, he gladly washed the clothes we had from our trekking trip.

If one wants to have an idea over paradise, don't look too far. There it is Mamma Taina is your protecting angel. A few words in Finnish are a good help. 1 hour by bus from Rovaniemi. I was very happy there, peaceful and silent. A real holiday... Yes, in the winter. Arctic clothes are a must, if you want to hike, or walk around.

The house is fully consistent with the description on the website. On the day of arrival there were severe frosts somewhere around 30, but the house was warm, so to speak, we were greeted warmly.))) And also beautiful nature, the house is located on the shore of a large lake. I plan to come there in the summer to see the beauty of this place.

I had a really pleasant stay at Academy Hotel Kemijärvi. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. This is a perfect place for bigger families. Lots of room and toys for kids to play with. Nice living room/kitchen area with a big fireplace. The upstairs offers some privacy for others if needed and balcony was a super nice and cosy place to relax. The always ready sauna is also big enough for the whole family and it's safe to use! The location is very good if you want to explore the eastern Lapland area. To move around the region you need a car although there is some public transportation. The hosts Pekka and Pauliina were there to show how everything works and they were super friendly. Would definitely recommend this place if you have a bigger family or group and you want to explore this part of Lapland!
