They all had a wonderful time. The dogs, with boundless energy, thoroughly enjoyed the garden. So much so, my family had difficulty getting them out of there. Perfect for a weekend away. My brother had a hip replacement just a week ago and said he had perfect sleep. The Cottage is perfectly situated to Alston for food shopping, cafes etc.Guest review byNeilFamily with young children

What was quite remarkable was the service given by the owner by transporting us to & from the hotel to our venue. Nothing was too much trouble. I had forgotten how steep stairs in old cottages can be, but it took me back to holidays in a cottage in Bognor Regis as a child. I would love to return again but it is a bit far from New Zealand. Staff were very friendly and accommodating of us, our bikes and need to have our bags and collected before and after our stay. Great breakkie and evening meal, plus nice selection of beer and whisky.
