The house was a perfect representation of old meets new with lots of charm and character! It was very well provisioned, with all you need and more in the kitchen, additional chargers for all mobile phones, a smart tv, Alexa’s all around, lots of cleaning supplies, board games (including a Lewis chess board!), books, just everything you might need for your stay and more! There were lots of interesting ornaments around the property giving it a splash of an authentic traditional home, with all we would use in a modern home. We were provided with a coffee machine (including pods), ground beans and french press, teas bags and a lovely basket of Scottish goodies including, porridge, jam, chocolate, biscuits etc. The location was ideal. It was a short walk from beautiful beaches and the famous Butt of Lewis. There were plenty of places to eat/drink including a quirky cafe. We enjoyed watching the lambs running around the Croft across the road. There were sea views from the property on a clear day and a lovely window at the top of the stairs with a day bed to take in the views. The WiFi was great and there was good data and reception in the area. The host was very kind and helpful and which made our stay!

Everything about the place was amazing, the unique setting of the castle, the attention to detail was incredible and management were so responsive and welcoming. A fantastic location for exploring not only Stornoway but Lewis and Harris. The small fridge in the room was so handy for keeping snacks for day trips. The best nights sleep in the comfiest bed.

    Absolutely beautiful chalet (even tho it still seemed that a little bit more work was being done to make it even better) The owner(s) were very welcoming and provided alot of info needed in regards of sight seeing . Would highly recommend and will be passing on their place / location to friends /family

    Perfect for family, both location and comfort. The cottage had everything we needed. With little light pollution, the cottage is in a perfect location for stargazing and if you are lucky enough like we were, you will be able to see the northern lights. It is also 15 minutes drive from the lighthouse for even darker skies. The host was very helpful especially with local knowledge. We will definitely be back.

    A wonderful property and facilities at the highest standard. Hot tub and sauna a real treat. Location was great to visit several key attractions on Lewis while just 30min from Stornaway. A local shop, pottery and hotel restaurant all within 5 min walk, with a walk to the sea across the Croft of another 5min. Hosts were terrific, offering a lovely welcome basket and a bottle of Prosecco. All told a truly wonderful stay and a terrific ‘get away’ spot for couples or family.

    A well presented bungalow with everything we needed for our stay. The kids loved being able to log into their Netflix, the welcome hamper was also well received. The location was great, we could see the see from the decking, we looked for the Northern Lights but missed them! All in all a great stay.
