Lovely old Tudor hotel (400 years), full of character with wood panelled bar and dining rooms. Good food at reasonable prices and a good selection of draught beer and cider. Nice garden with covered outside area and children's play area. Friendly and efficient staff.

Location is central but quiet. The car park is at rear and the hotel accessed via a garden. Room was lovely and very atmospheric. I stayed here several times as a boy because my mum was evacuated to Presteigne during WW2. We came back to visit her host family. Little has altered. All the good things about the hotel remain, with wifi and upgraded rooms!

The lovely hosts were very accommodating at all times and check-in couldn’t have been easier! We loved the quirkiness of the Lean to and our kids thoroughly enjoyed the super cosy bath and fab mezzanine hideout where they slept. We were left some gorgeous fresh apple juice and eggs, which was greatly appreciated!

Good food, ample parking, lovely local pub feel in the bar, staff were attentive and friendly, would definitely recommend. We had a family cabin at the back of the hotel which was perfect for our needs.

Hotel was full of history and character. The bar served a good beer on draft and the food was good too. Both we and our children really liked the one night stay we had in such an interesting old building.
