Family hotels and homes in Thurso

The accommodation was fantastic, plenty of room for all of us. The hot tub was a big hit with everyone. The house was clean and tidy, and the amenities within the house were excellent. The play room got plenty of use, and the toys provided were a bonus. We had family visit us every day with their children, the garden was child and dog proof. We had a brilliant time and will be looking to book again, probably next year! Would highly recommend 😁

It was very central to town, easy 5-10 minute walk to train station, big old stone house with nice view of river. Really friendly, relaxed welcome in this family run hotel. Food available till 2030, we had the fish and chips, beautifully cooked fish although too big a portion for me personally. Well stocked bar with delicious Orkney beer on draught. Our room was small but comfortable bed with fully functioning modern en suite and plentiful tea making facilities. Suited perfectly for our overnight stay. Excellent value, lovely atmosphere.

Had a great stay in the Pentland. We had a family room and it was perfect for us (2 adults 2 kids) The staff were first class and all the food we had was great.

Excellent location, brilliant accommodation there was nothing needed to take with us all was provided, robes, towels, showering facilities, kitchen fully assisted for cooking and very comfortable lounge area with throws, games and so much more. Outdoors also was perfect dining area with hot tub and bbq/fire pit. For us dog friendly field completely enclosed was brilliant too also fab family area for the kids.

Exactly as described, however the pod was much bigger than I expected, plenty of room for two adults and two children plus our dog, a German shepherd. Facilities on site were excellent, especially the kids play park which our girls loved. The views were phenomenal and it’s location is excellent for travel to Thurso but also to beaches. Will definitely be back.

Came with a hot breakfast which is always a bonus. Don’t need to worry about the morning meal for kids. We ended up checking in at 1am and staff was on hand to let us in. It’s three star so no phone for reception. But housekeeping were around the place both mornings and very helpful. Family room was nice and had a cosy but clean spacious feel.

It was a spacious and clean family room with separate beds for children. Tasty food available for dinner and breakfast. The car park was also available on site, even though the hotel is located by the main road. The bonus was a short walking distance to the seaside with a beautiful beach. The staff were friendly and welcoming.

The room was very clean, the staff were excellent. Our waitress was lovely and the gentleman on reception could not have been more helpful. The food was excellent and great value for money. The menu had a nice choice and the kids menu gave our family a wee laugh. Nicely put together. Would definitely visit again if up North.

Lovely family run hotel. Very friendly and accommodating. We asked if they were serving dinner when we arrived, and were advised we could still have steak or haddock. I am sure the steak would have been lovely, but wow, the haddock was delicious. So fresh and the batter perfect. Also a huge helping that we were not able to finish! They really don't charge enough for what you get! If you want a lovely friendly, comfortable family hotel this is perfect! Also plenty of parking available, and no issues with WIFI.
