Methos Homestay is perfect in every way. we loved staying here on the overwater bungalows and close enough to interact with the locals. The bungalows and basic facilities are all you need in Raja Ampat. So good to stay somewhere where it’s back to basics and just take it all in. Methos and everyone else at the Homestay are very nice and welcoming and they helped out so much with boat trips and diving.

The homestay is idyllic and secluded. We were right on the water, the porch is nicely decorated, there's a table and chairs so in the evenings we could easily play cards. In the day, if we weren't diving with Corepen (they come and collect you and drop you off), we would snorkel on the coral reef in front of the homestay which is fantastic! We saw a turtle, ray, squid, clown fish, a shark etc. All three meals are included and Lina's cooking is amazing. We would eat fresh fish everyday. Portion size is very generous so you won't be going hungry. Lina and Arnes are so kind and gentle hosts we couldn't recommend this more. Their English is very limited so just make sure you download a translator app if you don't have data (there's no WiFi). The amenities are basic and you get electricity from around 6:30pm-10:30pm but for us, this only added to its charm. When we passed other homestays, we were always grateful for picking Efenli.

The homestay was the best and most comfortable we had in Raja Ampat. Very good facilities and food.

Closeness to nature, which is still unspoiled. Lots of birds, fishes and ofcourse the marine life that is easy accessible from PapuArts Alter Native Stay. Family feeling; easily to feel at home with this lovely family of four (Helga, Timon and their 2 beautiful young daughters who love to make friends). Oh, and I forgot their two sweet dogs Ringo & Dingo 🐾🐾 Owners are very helpful and speak several languages so easy to communicate with them. Internet is sometimes a bit unstable so take that into account when expecting speedy replies (sometimes it just doesn’t work and patience is a good thing to have). The food - home style cooking (breakfast, lunch and dinner are all cooked by the owner and her team and she is a great cook; we loved every meal which was perfectly catered to our vegetarian / pescatarian wishes) The rooms are close to nature as well, with very comfy beds (we stayed in both the smaller and the biggest family room, which easily fits 3 respectively 4 people; the 3rd bed in the smaller room has a wonderful treehouse feeling and there is a bunkbed in the biggest room). Hard to capture the beauty of the rooms in just one picture (I took several but could only post one here with my review). You can hear the sea and birds from your bedroom. It’s right next to you. No frills, just natural materials, which we loved. Also no warm water, but easily to get used to. There’s a shower and mandi style shower. Also your own toilet. Plus the blue blue sea right at your doorstep and a lovely sitting area with a hammock to complete the zen-feeling. There’s a long jetty into the sea with a perfect spot for exercise/meditation/yoga at the end. Fitness with a view! It’s quiet and feels very private. You instantly feel relaxed here. Different excursions to choose from, both on land and on/under the sea. Please note: these come at an extra cost and Raja Ampat area is not cheap!!!! Every thing is more than our expectations from the time they picked us up from the port in Waisai. Mario is superb, he was always friendly and willing to help, he organised a ferry to send us to another homestay next to his free of charge and asked us to have the lunch before we left. As for foods, I think the foods they provided were good and delicious. The staff were very friendly too. We liked our room, the bed was wide and comfortable. House reef is one of the best, I wish that we should planed to stay longer.

This is by far the best accomodation we've been in the area. Resort style facilities without the high resort price tag or crowd. It's more expensive than a homestay but the price difference is definitely worth it if you want comfort or a beautiful accomodation. We stayed in the overwater villa and it was great, very clean, wifi, electricity, felt just like being in a 4 star hotel. Staff is very friendly, excursions great and they are very helpful with anything that you need. Reef is amazing (lots of fish, turtles, moray and occasional black tips and white tips), overall a 10 out of 10 experience.

This homestay on Besir island is ideally located near several interests spots in Raja Ampat. The place is calm, only two cabins on the water, connected to a village full of charm. The utilities are on the beach, near the owner's house. It's very clean and has everything required to answer basic needs. Regarding the rooms, mosquito net on the bed, fan, electricity at night, blankets, hammock, sunbed and basic furnitures. All the meals (included in the reservation) are served to your cabin, they vary and are prepared by an great cook! So everything is tasteful and good. No connection except if you get a SIM card on arrival at Sorong's airport but deconnection is great. It's easy to communicate with the owner who speaks well English (rare in Raja Ampat) and he tries his best for you to have the best stay possible. Him and his family are super nice and welcoming while respecting your privacy. I came with a friend and we stayed 3 full days, we had an amazing time there and we can only recommend this place. All the activities we've done through them were memorable, we had a lot of fun. Have a good holiday there!
