Freshly renovated, clean, staff including the manager were super friendly and helpful, giving good advice happily and help organizing stuff. Their restaurant was closed but they have room service with delicious fresh food, so no problem. Location is perfect, 3 minutes walk to the golden temple. They help getting a cab to Wagah border for a fair price (1500 INR).

This is the perfect hostel to stay in for visiting Amritsar. The location is in walking distance of the Golden Temple and Jallianwala Bagh. There is a lovely rooftop to chill in with a few beers in the evening. If you stay here you must sign up for the Boarder Closing Ceremony trip with Vikki. It is very reasonably priced and Vikki will show you many sites on the way. It is brilliant and a must do. Also Vikki very helpfully brought us to our bus the next day and talked with the company on the phone when we were given the wrong location on my behalf. He went above and beyond!
