For me it was a dream come true, to stay a birthday in an ancient mountain village in the middle of nature. The small apartment has an authentic historic feel, excellent views of the wild valley and a touch of living at an alchemist's, with all the details and dried plants floating around. The weather was cold and rainy during my stay, but the long hikes in the valley and climbing to the castle ruins on the opposite side of the valley compensated it all in heaps. I'm very happy the property was available during my trip. The managers are very helpful, you feel very private, but when needed, they're always around. Don't forget to visit her Botanist shop next door!

The property was fantastic! The decor was extremely comfortable and the art work displayed throughout the apartment was exceptional. Great location, very comfortable, everything you need. We also ate at La Piazzetta, the restaurant below the apartment; the great wifi is shared by the two facilities. But, the best part was Serena who communicated well and was always very willing and available to help.

The location is the best I could hope for. The view from the patio was breath-taking. The apartment itself was spacious enough to host the two of us and our dogs, but also small enough to keep it comfortable and intimate. For the record, it could have comfortably hosted a couple of children too The looks of the apartment is everything you'd want in a place like Calcata. Modern comfort, with a 70's vibe and a medieval wine cellar soul in its architecture. Carla has been super sweet to us, very reliable, easy to reach and flexible with our arrival time, which made a lot of difference for us. The path to get to the apartment is stunningly charming, but a bit steep and narrow, so you should take it into account if you have trouble walking, vertigo or small children. All the basics were there: hot shower hand towels working lights + ambience lights clean linen working fridge (can't remember if there's a freezer) working stoves kitchenware Coffee machine and a mocha Working WiFi TV wine ... And a pie 🩷 I didnt eat it (maybe my friend did) but it was a very appreciated touch. The place is quiet, charming and safe. The apartment by itself would have been worth the entire trip.
