It is an unused school building and it was fun to sleep in a classroom. Because it is a classroom, the rooms are very large. Beautiful building with very friendly hosts. Kitchen and lounge area provided with anything you need. Close to the old street of Magome-juku.

Everything. Wonderful traditional experience with wonderful dinner and breakfast. Super clean. Loved the man who taught us the samurai song and dance. My two kids adored this place.

Halfway between a compact and modern business hotel and a ryokan experience! Barefoot hotel, hence interesting experience for kids. Western breakfast items on the buffet was helpful for us as vegetarians travelling with 2 children. All modern amenities avbl. Has a "bathhouse" if you want the experience. Excellent choice for exploring the Nakasendo trail.

We loved this beautiful modern hotel. Very kind staff. The room was very comfortable (we had a family room with sofabed to make more space for unpacking luggage). The onsen was beautiful, nicest onsen we had been in. Breakfast was quite nice, and we enjoyed the rice in the evenings (they provide a range of special seasonings etc). Location is excellent close to train station and it is also next to a nice shopping street.

This is a great hotel. Good value for money either way great staff and spotlessly clean. The decor of the rooms is really funky, and the bath house is a real bonus too. Easy to recommend

Lovely property, renovated school so was really interesting. There is an old sports hall where you can play basketball, a kitchen and lounge, an abandoned baseball court. Sumo ring, the list goes on. Three of the staff in particular, Yuki, Gai and Ayana were brilliant, extremely welcoming and funny, couldn’t do enough to help us and made our night.

It is beautiful and authentic Japanese guesthouse. The dinner was especially exceptional with all those little tasty dishes. It was a unique experience by itself. The onsen is also great for relaxing after completing the trail to or from Tsumango. The staff was really kind and helpful. We travelled with a little child and it was a great place for that. They even had a baby chair for dinner, so our baby could sit with us.
