It was super cute, and the staff was so friendly and helpful. it was located in a very calm area, accessible by bus with just a short walk from the bus stop. There were two restaurants in the area, one sushi restaurant a 15 min walk from the house and another one a bit further away. The staff, Mr Ryosaki Nakashima, helped us call and make a reservation at the sushi restaurant, which was lucky since it was almost full when we arrived. It was possible to wash your clothes for free at Cottage Morinokokage, and there were also some vending machines with food and drinks available. We also asked for breakfast (possible to book upon check-in) which was very nice and in-expensive.

I had an amazing stay at this spacious house on the south coast of Yakushima! If you’re planning to visit, I definitely recommend coming by car since there’s a free parking spot available, which makes things super convenient. - Beautiful and cozy house: The house is stunning inside and out, with a warm, welcoming vibe. The garden is also really well maintained and adds to the charm. - Spotlessly clean: Everything was incredibly clean when I arrived, which made the stay very comfortable. - Fast WiFi: The internet is surprisingly fast, which was a great bonus. - Affordable food options: The house offers food you can buy for just 100–200¥, including ramen, curry, rice, and snacks - Great location: A supermarket is only 2 minutes away on foot, and there are two hot springs (onsens) and a beach within walking distance. - Spacious and well-equipped: The house can accommodate up to 7 people and has two bathrooms, which is really convenient. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to cook. - Friendly owner: The owner is incredibly kind and speaks enough English to communicate easily. They’ve also prepared some English translations and information to help you out.

This is perfectly positioned for the deep sea onsen. There was special towels to use for the onsen and we were very pleased with this. The kitchen was well equipped, great space to relax at gather around the table. Very neat and traditional Japanese with a modern touch.
