Very warm welcome. We were offered tea or fresh coffee immediately and Ganga (our hostess) asked if we were hungry (we were starving!) and prepared us a delicious home cooked meal. The villa is absolutely beautiful, surrounded by lush gardens and has a lovely pool. Rooms are immaculate and comfortable. Fresh coffee (delicious) and tea is always on hand and breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Ganga and Upal are amazing hosts. Ganga did our laundry, fed us and Upal took my husband on a day tour of the local sites and temples (I stayed at the villa and had the most lovely lazy day) The shops and high street are a 5 minute walk away and everyone is so friendly and welcoming. We had the most lovely time there and were rested and refreshed. Upal offers an airport shuttle too for a very reasonable price. We’ve decided to change our travel plans and go back there because we loved it so much. I highly recommend this place, in fact I’d say this has been the most hospitable and welcoming place we’ve ever stayed. The price is very reasonable, the time spent there is just bliss and the company of Ganga and Upal is just the icing on the cake.

A beautiful boutique style hotel with beautiful clean rooms and comfortable beds, a luxurious bathroom and a chef who makes delicious food. Very friendly, attentive, helpful, hardworking staff who will go above and beyond to ensure you have everything you need. I couldn’t find Nutella in the shops at any of the previous hotels we stayed in. When tree of life contacted me to remind me of my booking I asked them did they know where I could find Nutella anywhere in Sri Lanka. Within one hour the hotel bought it and had it ready for my daughter on her arrival. THis kind gesture made her whole trip. Great job!!!

I'm really demanding person but I was fascinated about this place! Let's Start with location. It's situated about 10 minuts by foot from Aluthgama railway station. It's very convenient when you trevel by train like we. You shouldn't worry about noise because this hotel is on a quiet street near the river. For people who is really in nightlife there are no bars, cafes and parties around this place. Instead of this you can enjoy amazing sunsets and try water activities on the river or fly on a glider over the beach. The hotel is separated from the beach by a river so they give you a free ride to the beach by boat. The beach is sandy, wide and almost deserted. There are no cafes but I saw several sunbeds so probably it could be rented. The coast is quite flat and the ocean depth is shallow, so the place is suitable for children Guest house is pretty small (about 5-6 rooms) and doesn't have a garden where people can walk but we didn't suffer about it. Amazing and welcoming family run it. They helped us with all questions but were not intrusive. We took a river safari excursion from them and did not regret it. We saw monitor lizards, endemic monkeys, small crocodiles, bats and birds. All the time we ate only in this hotel. They provide very tasty and filling breakfasts. We were served scrambled eggs in different forms (scramble, omelet, etc.), yogurt, fruit, toast, butter and jam, juice, tea or coffee. Besides they have a wide selection of dishes in menu including grilld meet( chiken, beef, porc), sea food, noodles, rice etc. All was available and has affordable price. We stayed in family room on the first floor. It is spacious, bright, extremely clean and fully matches with photo and description. Definitely recommend this hotel and say a huge thank you to this family!

Such a nice friendly couple, genuinely helping us in any way possible 😊 The rooms were big and comfy. It's very close to the beach. Breakfast was big and with lots of varieties.

Pradeep and Ruchira are amazing host. We had great conversations of history, culture, traditions with Mr Pradeep. He is one man army who takes excellent care of the entire property and its residents - Kudos to the brilliant effort and maintenance of the property - Breakfast served was excellent with Sri Lankan flavors - they serve both Sri lankan and English breakfast based on your preference. Pool was in excellent condition too - Mr Pradeep also helped me getting food/drinks delivered for dinner. Continuous supply of hot water 24/7 and excellent AC in rooms which cools down the room quickly. Although all rooms are fantastic and has its own vibe/style, i liked the one on the 1st floor facing the pool with a beautiful balcony- It had a small kitchen with stove/gas with all utensils/pans required to cook , electric water kettle. Overall, i would visit the property again and again and again if I'm in bentota. Mr Pradeep is an amazing host. Not to forget Mr Harinda, who took us to an unforgettable River Boat safari which lasted to 2Hrs 15 min - We started early at 745 AM to reach bentota river by a tuk-tuk ( Mr Pradeep arranged this for us - 8 min drive, very close to the property ) i cant commend Mr Harinda enough for his service, patience and excellent skills to find miniature creatures in mangroves - We did both Madu river boat and this ( Bentota river ) and the service to value for money ratio from Mr Harinda is by far the best between the two - Mr Harinda is available on watsapp ( +94 784599117 ) . While completing the safari, the boat will reach Mr Pradeep's property directly
