I booked one night to see sunrise at Mihintale Rock, and I stayed 2 more because I enjoyed the place so much. The host, Kapila, is a former tour guide with expert knowledge of the area and its history; he and his family will welcome you with big smiles, fun conversation, tips on navigating Mihintale and Anuradhapura, and delicious meals. I highly recommend using the villa as your base for exploring Mihintale’s many sites (walkable from the villa) and for taking a 30-minute bus or tuk tuk to Anuradhapura. Pro tip: do NOT miss sunrise at Mihintale Rock/Temple Complex, sunset at Rajagiri Caves, a meditative walk through Kaludiya Pokuna, and a nighttime bike ride to the many holy sites of Anuradhapura.

Wonderful staff, they upgraded us so that we could have adjacent rooms. The rooms are big, comfortable, clean, quiet, and great for sleeping because of dark curtains. The garden is amazing. You can see peacocks roaming, and enjoy the lovely swimming pool. The restaurant serves some yummy food.

My wife and I stayed at Blooming for two nights and loved it! It’s a bit away from downtown Anaradhapura (like Tuk Tuk distance) but that made it very private and we had no issues with noise. The room was spotless on arrival and everything worked as expected. The air conditioning worked perfectly and the TV was a nice bonus. The beds were comfortable and we slept well! The bathroom had great water pressure and was clean too! We had breakfast there both mornings and dinner once. The dinner was an additional charge but it was well worth it! They fed us so much food and it was all homemade Sri Lankan! We also used the pool both days and that was a nice break from the Sri Lankan heat.

I had a wonderful stay at this holiday resort. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. I especially appreciated the peaceful atmosphere, which made for a truly relaxing experience. The staff were friendly, polite, and very helpful throughout both check-in and check-out.
