A wonderful simple & authentic home stay. The owners (mother & son) were so lovely, friendly and helpful. The tea & cake on arrival were very welcome! It was the perfect overnight stay before doing the 10minute walk to Nanuoya train station the next day. Would highly recommend.

From the beginning we were met with kindness and warmth, the host brought us home made cup of black tea, fruits and teacake, it was delicious. The room and bathroom was clean and comfortable. No mosquitos and other unwelcome living creatures. If you wish family provides Sri lankan homade dinner and breakfast for a reasonable price. Dinner and breakfast was served with a lot of love, it was the best rice and curry from our trip in Sri Lanka. Location is surrounded by mountains and 12 min walk to waterfall and 10 min by walk to the train station from there you can easily reach Ella or Kandy-Colombo. The host family is really friendly and helpful. Wifi conection was good.

A nice big room with a comfortable bed and views out over the outskirts of the town and onto the tea plantations. There's also a common area with sofa and dining table. Breakfast that was included in the room price was good typical Sri Lankan. I also had an evening meal on both nights which was ok and saved me going into town but wasn't great if I'm honest. Location is around 15 minutes walk to Lovers Leap waterfall. And there's a bus stop a few minutes walk away where buses are every few minutes and cost 35 rupees in to the town centre.

Comfort ,Cleanliness and the amenities which they offered for this price not even expensive hotels will be provided. This one we got to know after experiencing other accommodation where we were in Sri Lanka. For Appleton Villa it’s all about service and caring while others only the money. Everything about our stay was fantastic. The host family were so welcoming and kind, and helped us with planning our holiday, not just in Nuwara Eliya but all over Sri Lanka. They also introduced us to a great guide for hiking and transport to Ella. The house and room are exactly as described, the bed really comfortable and the shower the best we experienced in our whole trip.

Very nice and friendly owners! We went on a tour to Horton Plains, everything was perfect. The room is big, the breakfast is very tasty. We also were picked up and dropped off at the railway station in Nanu Oya, very hassle free for us.
