The hotel is amazing. Hotel as a building seems to cooperate with nature, is surrounded by beautiful trees, lake, animals! Personel is really helpful, always smiling. We visited 4 hotels during our Sri Lanka Trip and that one was the best. If you consider safari in Yala just take that hotel and my recommendation is stay at least 4 nights. Belize me you will rest and relax like never before :) We had half board types, both breakfast and dinners were excellent!

Such a nice Hotel run by the most lovely family! They were so welcoming and attentive, helped us book the safari which was amazing. Our tour guide was the best, super helping and knowledgeable! The food was great. Big portions and reasonably priced! Our room was very clean and comfortable would definitely stay here again!

An exceptional family stay, in December 2024, this was a newly built facility. The family run hotel had a homely atmosphere, everyone was super friendly and polite. The owner has put a lot of thought into the layout and details of the whole hotel. The room are expansive, very comfortable and immaculately clean. The private balconies offer great views over the picturesque rice fields and beyond to the lake. The gardens are teaming with birds. The pool is well maintained, and very welcome after a long journey. The food was super fresh and very tasty, home cooked in a very clean open air kitchen. The owner arranged our Yala safari. We had a very enjoyable stay, in hide sight we should have stayed longer.

The place is beautiful, a really nice cocoon near the lake! The owners are really friendly and they offer you a bird tour in the evening with sunset stop. This experience was really enjoyable and interesting, the sunset on the lake beautiful.

The absolute BEST place we stayed during our month long travel around Sri Lanka! It's understandable why Black Panther has only 10/10 reviews! They deserve it! - Room and bathroom were immaculately clean. - The bed was big, long and comfortable. The sheets were super soft and the pillows perfect. Everything felt brand new. - The A/C and ceiling fan both worked very well. - Drying rack provided in the room. - Flat screen TV with English and Sports channels available. - Water heater in the shower. - Dinner and desserts were different and delicious each evening. - Property is gated. It is off the main road so it was quiet at night and we slept great. - Free bicycles to use. - The safaris we booked with them were amazing! The breakfast/lunch/snacks/fruit/bottles of water the home-stay provided for these was unbelievable and way more than we could eat. They also provided us with binoculars which were definitely appreciated. The owners were beyond kind and helpful with everything and anything needed. They made us feel so welcome and comfortable and it felt like they truly only wanted the best stay/safaris/meals/everything for us. The information and all the different things to do and see in Tissamaharama they provided all turned out to be incredible and places we'll never forget. We definitely recommend staying here!!!

Extraordinary lodge with lovely staff members. We were welcomed by Ishan and Nishani. They were professional, friendly and smiling. Nishani’s food was delicious!! Thank you for two amazing nights and for packing an early breakfast for us to bring on our morning safari :)

Comfortable rooms that seem newly renovated. All clean. We found no ants in our room. The hostess was one of the nicest people we have met in Sri Lanka. She was so welcoming and kind. Showed us animals and plants in her garden. The food was delicious and affordable, we even got complimentary smoothies. And the safari we booked through JAMI had a good price. Thank you!

We had great experience so far with Sri Lankan hospitality but Elegant Lake House took it to another level. The host was more than welcoming and kind to us and even gave us an excellent tour of the village and took us to the famous fruit bat migration place. They organized an excelent safari tour for us and made us a breakfast to take to safari at 4:30 in the morning. The room was great and comfortable with a beautifull view of the garden. Thank you Elegant Lake House for raising the bar of hospitality for us and making our stay more interesting.
