When we arrived we were stunned by the beautiful architecture of the Villa. It is very open und full of light. Even some trees got planted inside the living room which really gave us the feeling of freedom and nature. The host couple welcomed us most welcoming and where always there for our questions and needs. The rooms where always clean and tidy. After 6 Nights of staying I can only recommend to come and stay with them to get a feeling of the best Sri Lankan hospitality.

This very affordable homestay is part of a young family's dream - and it really shows. It happens from time to time that I give accommodations the maximum 10/10. When it comes to Mango Roots, however, I have to give at least 11/10😉 The lovely host couple are extremely generous and welcoming - or as my wife exclaimed: -They are the nicest host couple we have ever met! The rooms and bathrooms were built five years ago and are very fresh, well-furnished and very clean. The beds are so comfortable, the a/c works quietly, the shower is nice with hot water, etc. etc. They have also invested in solar cell technology, rechargeable lamps and universal wall sockets that fit Euro plugs, among other plugs. The accommodation is located in a quiet and safe area and the two rooms are located on the upper floor of a separate building. Unfortunately, we did not have dinner there, but we did get a fantastic Sri Lankan breakfast and lots of new knowledge about fruits, plant cultivation and Sri Lankan cooking in the bargain. Our stay was perfect! The spacious bungalow was clean en beautiful. It is located in a tropical garden with many birds. The pool is beautiful! It is close to a small village where the people are curious and super friendly. We walked to do some shoppings. It is not a touristic area and that is what we loved. The food was also really good! The staff helped us to arrange a drivers to bring us to the next stop. He recommended some sightseeing and our visit to temples was great! No tourists and we were invited for a tea by a monk!

BRAND NEW Tiny place but absolutely nice. Big bed, more than enough when i just asked for single bed room. The owner was so friendly that he took us to buy food by his own car when we arrived late in the everning, and he was so helpful in introducing everything, get us taxi,...
