It’s a wonderful historic house in the village of Grootschermer with all amenities. Location is perfect for car and especially bike trips throughout Northen Holland. It’s secluded and peaceful but within 5-minute drive to De Rijp where there is a super market and good bus connection to Amsterdam Central (2x per hour). There are a number of good restaurants ( in Grootschermer, Noordeinde and De Rijp) and lots of sightseeing attractions. Marianne ang Gijs are the best hosts! Wonderful warm people that make you feel at home.

Very unique property in a beautiful city. Each room is unique and we loved the vaulted ceiling and wooden beams in our room. A Labour of love for the owner whose mother used to run a dance studio on the premises. Each room has a record player along with a selection of vinyl. Parking nearby in a park house is heavily subsidized.

The room is really nice, beautiful and cozy. It is quite big. The view is also great just next to cannel. Location of the hotel is perfect. Just a few mins work can reach bars and restaurants. The staff are very kind. I had late check in and heavy suitcase. They opened the door for me and carried it for me to my room. Really appreciated. Above all, I really recommand this hotel and will stay again if in Alkmaar.

Really nice location near the shopping area of Alkmaar. The unit is super nice with a great kitchen, living area, bed, bathroom, and great view of the city. The hosts were wonderful and very accommodating. They helped me quickly get my laundry done, gave me an excellent breakfast in the morning, and even insisted on driving me to the train station in the morning! I would love to stay again and definitely recommend.

We were very warmly welcomed by Diwa, who showed us the apartment, told us interesting things about Alkmaar. She was extremely nice and friendly and really made my mother and me feel very much at home. The apartment has its very unique charme placed high above the roofs of Alkmaar. The beds were comfortable, the sights were great and we didn't miss a thing. Most of all, though, we could always send Diwa a short message, like when we forgot how to tune in the German channels on the TV, and Diwa would always reply immediately, friendly and help us!
