It was an exceptional stay. First the sheer size of the place. Second, the amazing antiques and furniture, yet it still felt very cosy. There was classical music playing on TV as we walked in and that totally suited the atmosphere. There were very thoughtful touches like toothbrushes and toothpaste in the bathroom and dressing gowns. It's right in the heart of Hoorn yet very quiet. And the bed was the comfiest I have ever slept in. We would have stayed longer if we could. We were here on a beer tour following Tim Skelton's Beer in the Netherlands and this was a wonderful stop!

It’s a wonderful historic house in the village of Grootschermer with all amenities. Location is perfect for car and especially bike trips throughout Northen Holland. It’s secluded and peaceful but within 5-minute drive to De Rijp where there is a super market and good bus connection to Amsterdam Central (2x per hour). There are a number of good restaurants ( in Grootschermer, Noordeinde and De Rijp) and lots of sightseeing attractions. Marianne ang Gijs are the best hosts! Wonderful warm people that make you feel at home.

Absolutely beautiful room and location. The room is located in its own separate section of the house, with a small garden that looks out over the countryside. Great view of the sunset and the only sound we could hear was lovely birdsong. It was spotless and kitted out with everything we could need. Brilliant shower and spacious bathroom, and exceptionally comfortable bed. We didn’t want to leave! The hosts, Marilyn and Michiel, were wonderful. Really friendly, kind and welcoming, and very helpful. Really very nice people. They even supplied fresh eggs from their chickens, and showed us around! They explained local routes, walks and shops, there is a very helpful guide to the area and the room on arrival, and they lent us bicycles to ride in the countryside. It is one of the best places I have stayed in, and would definitely return if I came back to NL. It is so rural and quiet, and yet only a 30 minute bus ride into central Amsterdam.

Super cool accommodation resort. The sauna complex is classy and rustic, with many beautiful designs, like the Birdnest sauna. The hotel room was spacious and comfortable with gorgeous redesigning of the fort building. Quiet & dark in the morning. I guess being a fort helps soundproofing! I slept extremely well. The included buffet breakfast was delicious! Perfect for a couple's retreat.

Clean & well maintained rooms. Super nice lobby. Very friendly staff. The restaurant served delicious food. The location is in the city of Hoorn which is really pictoresque. The parking is free which is rare!

Beautiful hotel in the center of Midden Beemster. Very nice and comfortable room. Very nice and friendly staff. Very cozy restaurant and bar area. Nice breakfast. I liked all of it!
