Great location. Great communication from the Owners. Place was nice and clean. Loved the Extras, like eggs, breads, chips, Ice, milk etc. Spa was clean and nice and warm.

What a wonderful stay! Paul was such a welcoming and attentive host. Their dogs, cats, horses, and other farm pets were the cutest! We felt so welcome. The room was big, the bed very comfortable, and the ladder so cool (if you like heights, which we do). They have another room with a bed on the ground floor if you don't. The house, bathroom, and other facilities were very clean, with lovely modern décor. Our stay felt like we were being welcomed into their family. The property is just lovely and peaceful, with no light pollution, so we had the best sleep. In the morning, I had a nice coffee while Paul took my son to visit the animals and made us breakfast. We travel all around NZ, and this was one of our absolute favourite stays — for an incredible price. If you love animals and that family feel, this is your place. I’ll be recommending it to everyone. Thank you so much for your hospitality. We look forward to staying with you again and meeting Tina next time.

It was a nice tidy house, probably more than I needed but for a family there was plenty of room, close to the beach and shops but also quiet.

Blackwood Luxury Hideaway is a recently renovated holiday home in Waikanae, where guests can make the most of its garden and barbecue facilities.

As a world traveller I have stayed in many places. This one I walked in at instantly felt at home and very happy. Not only was everything spic and span physically but also energetically. There was no sense of many people having been there. The space was clean and clear and spacious just for us. I will always remember this feeling. The decor was bright and light without creating any "imprints" on the mind. Even the soap was not your every day soap but of high standard. The sun shining in over the mountains in the morning created a sense of 'all is well'. There are excellent curtains should you prefer the dark. We stayed here on the way to the south island to be close to the ferry. There is the hum of the motorway way off in the background which did not bother us at all, and I am highly sensitive. The quality of this place, its energy and its setting in the rolling hills I cannot recommend this place high enough, and myself would always come back here when in the area. I would give this place 10 stars if I could.

This was a great place to stay, on the edge of the beach , our host was Debra who did every thing possible to accommodate us. Everything was to hand , especially all the kitchen utensils. We only stayed one night and would have liked to stay longer , but our travels didn't allow this. lovely to meet you Debra , a lovely place.

The staff were so friendly and helpful. The hotel was beautiful and the decor was modern and stylish, very comfortable and well equipped room.

Wow what a place! Thinking of staying in Wellington…don’t skip past it off the ferry and use this place as your base just 30 mins outside the city and its night and day compared to accommodation in the city. The hosts were lovely and very helpful, there were actually birds singing (and feeding) just off the porch! The rooms and layout is very nice, one of the best places we stayed in on our month in NZ! Great recommendation for a restaurant (the Waterfront was v good).
