The Chalet are so gorgeous, we stayed there the night before doing the Abel Tasman walk, and then came back after 3 days in the park, we asked for the sofa bed to be made as we were 2 friends traveling together and after all that walk we were very tired and needed a good night rest. They made the sofa bed with lots of padding and it was so confortable I slept like a baby. I really liked staying there, very private and quiet, lots of space. We could park our car no problem. I will definitely come back as I want to do the heaphy track next year. It' s also perfect location to go to the farewell spit. And 10 minutes drive from the Chalet there are beautiful water source and we also found a walk up to see some grottas. The little village of Takaka is also very cute, lots of cool little shop and cafe. Highly recommend this area and this accomodation.

Nat was a great host! Very welcoming, helping us navigate the property. She gave us all the instructions needed to have an excellent stay, and even let us help train the alpacas in the morning. The location was private and peaceful at night. It was like we were alone under the stars. We will never forget our time at Nat’s house truck.

Amazingly beautiful place to stay. We loved everything about our stay, especially though getting to interact with the alpaca’s, especially baby Bobo who was cuter than cute. May was great host, cabin was cozy, breakfasts were delicious. Staying here was a highlight of our trip.

Lovely apartment with everything you could want. Super great shower pressure and a very comfortable bed. Plus, Jen and Steve provided a filling breakfast each morning! Jen and Steve provided us with numerous hiking and sightseeing tips and all were excellent. We spent full days going to their recommendations. Don't hesitate to stay here and we highly recommend!

We loved our room here. We did have the two bedroom apartment and it was so spacious and comfortable. It’s such a sweet touch that they offer you milk for your morning coffee in a little jug. The location is fantastic. You can walk into town in a couple minutes. The town is awesome. Several wonderful coffee shops with delicious food and lots of hippie vibes stores.

Loved the motel & the floor to ceiling glass in the bedroom out to the peaceful garden. The motel was very quiet despite being located just off of the main road. Lisa, at reception was awesome & brought us a portable gas weber bbq to prepare our dinner. We liked everything about this motel, free washing machine for guests + it was very convenient & close to Takaka center. We'll definitely stay here again.
