This place is in incredible. The staff do so much to make you feel so comfortable as soon as you pull up. We were greeted so warmly and Petite took us for an awesome stroll around the village and to see the sunset. We also had an opportunity to talk to the owners about some of the amazing work they do with the community and to meet some of the children they support. On top of all of that, the food and customer service was absolutely superb! Do yourself a favour and stop here to meet the staff! They have a coffee shop and awesome little bar too. We had an amazing time at Ihema Lodges! This place far exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived until check-out we felt truly looked after. The rooms were clean and comfortable with nice details throughout. Enjoying dinner with a beautiful backdrop of the lake was a highlight in itself. The staff was very helpful and flexible and made preparing for our safari in Akagera National Park a breeze. We already miss the tranquility and calm of Ihema and will be sure to return soon. Akagera Rhino Lodge is a great place to stay near Akagera Park—only 15 minutes away by car. The room was very cosy, with an amazing view of the lake! The restaurant is nice, the food is good, and you can also order a picnic to take with you on safari in the park. The staff is really friendly and attentive. There's hot water in the shower, and the Wi-Fi is decent. I 100% recommend this place for its excellent value for money.
